Lee Childs 61 HoursLee Childs continues with his high standard Jack Reacher novels. Another excellent book with a different twist to the end??
Did Lee Child really write this?I've read and re-read all of the Jack Reacher books. I judge 61 Hours as an extremely poor effort by the Author (or his Ghost Writer).
The descriptive is repetitive, the plot is lightweight and unbelievable, the characters are flimsy and transparent.
Anyone with a knowledge of Hydraulics or Mechanical Engineering will know that using the best suction pump in the world, it is impossible to lift a fluid like kerosene any further than 30 feet. The height of the column of liquid is determined by the atmospheric pressure acting on the surface of the storage tank.
To draw kerosene up a pipe of over 100 feet is simply not feasible.
Thus the ending to the story (or false ending?) is rubbish.
I won't be buying the sequel, and Lee will have to write something to redeem himself before I buy another of his books.
One of the best Reacher novelsOne of the best Reacher books. The plot is simple, yet riveting at the same time! I finished the book and then immediately pre-ordered the next Reacher book from Amazon!
RubbishThis is the second time I have written this review. This book I purchased through BEST CONDITION BEST PRICE but it DID NOT ARRIVE. I was not the only person who used these people and there were many complaints from people in the same situation as me. How can you allow this to happen??????? I have been a loyal Amazon customer for many years and this has never happened to me before. You must know by now so how can you keep asking people for their reviews for something they have not received. I asked how I was going to get my money back but you have not answered me either.
I LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING A REPLY FROM YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
NOT AS GOOD ASCOMPARED TO HIS PREVIOUS BOOKS ,I FOUND THIS VERY SLOW.75% OF THE BOOK WAS SETTING THE SCENE FOR THE CLIMAX WHICH WAS RATHER PREDICTABLE. COUNTDOWN OF THE HOURS ,AND THE CONSTANT DESCRIPTION OF THE ICY CONDITIONS VERY REPITITOUS. BUT STILL A MUST READ FOR REACHER FANS.
